Dear Members and Friends of the Council of the Alleghenies:

You are cordially invited to the Annual Meeting of the Council of the Alleghenies to be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009, in the Great Hall of Penn Alps, located on Route 40 east of Grantsville, Maryland. We will gather at 10:30AM for coffee and other beverages with the Business Meeting starting at 11:00AM. Following that will be the annual drawing for door prizes donated by Board members. Lunch will follow at about 12:15PM, with the program to follow.

The business meeting will include a discussion of the "health and welfare" of the Council, as well as elections to the Board of Directors. Members are requested to recommend persons to be added to the Board, as well as volunteer themselves.

The lunch will include roast beef, carrots, green beens, mashed potatoes and gravy, tossed salad, rolls, German chocolate cake and beverages. The cost will be $15.50. Reservations will need to be made by Friday, October 16.

The program will be presented by Steven Smoot, a history teacher at Potomac State College. His topic will be "Guerilla War and Revolution in West Virginia".
